The last time I posted, you might have noticed was last summer, before Aberdeen had any work and was struggling with feeling like a productive individual. Horacio had taken post as an Office Max manager (still is) and was struggling with branching out socially.
Things have ebbed and flowed for both of us. Horacio is nearly done with his 1st semester of nursing school, made some new friends, and purchased some new instruments. Aberdeen has moved on to her 4th job, a substitute-cum-semi teacher at a middle school.
No travel has been had (unfortunately) save for a camping trip 30 minutes west and 2 trips to Brownsville.
Horacio's sister has been married, honeymooned, new job, and is now expecting a baby at any moment.
Aberdeen's sister & brother are graduating and she will be flying to MN to see them in late May.
We don't get to see each other nearly as much as we'd like, which has been challenging (as much a we don't like to admit it), but we are still very, very much in love and looking forward to nomming on the fruits of this labor!

MAJOR update...it's been forever.
After briefly scanning through the last couple of entries, it is ridiculous how much has happened to us, honestly, a lot of struggle and heartache. But a lot of good, too. Stronger than ever, Horacio and I are now finally able to say we have a decent footing in our new home, Austin, TX. Hopefully, with more frequent postings and up-to-date musings, a more accurate slice of our lives can illustrate how two lives can merge--even in a new city--and it can be a good thing!
Here are some highlights: (Another huge event that happened was when my dad and sister helped move, but I will post again for that...maybe in an entry called "family", because H's fam will be here this weekend, and I'll be sure to snap some pix.
Here is us eating some corn on the com before the 4th of July Fireworks...this was such a fun day!
My dear friend Emily came into town for a visit before her imminent move to Serbia :(
Horacio and I have been really serious about starting our own business in the near future, and here are some headbands I designed...a start. Unfortunately, I need to be super serious about these and crank 'em out...for them to matter.
Hehe...got this guy to model. Sportin' his new haircut from Bird's.
And last but not least, Ana & Gilbert got married June 26th!

Austin: Take 2 (Job Fair Edition)
Spoiling ourselves at Habana, our favorite Cuba eatery
Ham and Cheese in a plantain? Genius. Heaven forbid I even plow through half of that!
This is what a job fair looks like. Yes, I took a pic. How tarty!
Buttoning up!
*Cough* check out this festival.
Walking down the street. Looking, not buying.
Someone's following me!
How to make some sweet walls!
Looks like some yoga girl band.
Lemurs can play guitars?
From the curb.
Hi! I'm sweating like a piggy!
Still sweating!
Haha! Crashed out boy!

New Home: Austin
It's been a busy month of applying for jobs, scrounging the city for inspirational housing, and interviews.
Getting swept away :)
Laying in poopy
Pole legs
Horacio really likes this pic...OK
Beauty bar: My favorite place...check out that cool nautical star tat!
Pretty ceiling at Toy Joy :)
I sorta look like this ice cream. I like it!
The path to our new house!
Muah. love you.
Here are some photos of what we've been doing in our off time:
More to come soon!

The old goat turned 27....BahhhH!
I made him a shirt with him when he was 4. Or 5. H couldn't remember/count the candles in the pic. It's clearly 4. Come on. First signs of aging already. Tear.
Horacio had a surprise party waiting at his parents' house. He was a little nervous for what would transpire, so the little whiner got a little wine.
Shades on--look at those flames!
GAH, I hate when I smile like this; I look like such a tool/salesman.
Playing soul/funk music, per usual!
